Greek gods in mythology

What a charmer! The Hermes, the clever Greek god of Commerce, was widely known as a silver-tongued devil, a great communicator, both persuasive and sympathetic to the problems and needs of others. Serving as the personal messenger of Zeus, Hermes was an effective ambassador for the gods and goddesses of Mount Olympus as he traveled far and wide on their behalf. nbsp;nbsp;: : : : : :nbsp; nbsp; CEO of the Greek gods and goddesses following the defeat of the ruling Titans, the Greek god Zeus proved to be an able ruler. Zeus was a sky god who had amassed substantial power and wasn't the least bit afraid to use it, even if it meant he sometimes had to release a few deadly thunderbolts to maintain law and order.  As a rule he was quite fair in his decisions and delegated responsibility wisely. nbsp;nbsp;: : : : : :nbsp; nbsp; Talk about powerful! Zeus was energetic, not to mention politically astute. With his carefully crafted goals and ambitions, he was a power to be reckoned with. A skilled multi-tasker, he was usually found either preserving the political order (managing the unruly group of gods and goddesses), seducing (or taking by force) a woman (mortal, nymph or goddess, it didn't seem to matter much!), reprimanding an errant son, or simply doting on one of his numerous daughters. A true father of the patriarchy he helped establish. nbsp;nbsp;: : : : : :nbsp; nbsp; What a rock star, Dionysus came complete with his own groupies! The Greek god of the ecstasy and wine created quite a stir wherever he travelled, and he traveled far and wide. After several conquests on foreign lands, y the Olympian gods and goddesses could no longer ignore him so he was finally asked to assume his rightful place among the other gods on Mount Olympus.nbsp;nbsp;: : : : : :nbsp; nbsp;Talk about tumultuous!  Poseidon, the Greek god of Ocean and Sea( known under the name of Neptune in his myths in Rome),  fought bravely with Zeus and the other Olympians to depose the mighty Titans. Unsatisfied to be limited to rulinf just the Seas, the tempetuous Poseidon occasionally caused the ocean to overflow its boundaries so that he could expand his domain. Though he could be quite impulsive at times, the Greek god Poseidon, like the deep ocean that he ruled, ran deep in mood and spirit.nbsp;nbsp;: : : : : :nbsp; nbsp;Apollo and Artemis, the twins, were the goddess and god of light. She was a moon goddess and he reflected the bright light of the sun. Knowledgeable and intellectual, the Greek god Apollo was cultured and intelligent, though not wholly adverse to the occasional adventure on the wild side.nbsp;nbsp;: : : : : :nbsp; nbsp;Hades, ruler of the Underworld, seldom had much to do with the adventures of the other gods and goddesses, preferring to stay within the confines of his underworld domain. But occasionally he would wander out to lend a helping hand. nbsp;nbsp;: : : : : :nbsp; nbsp; The fatherless son of Hera, Hephaestus was born lame and was thrown out of the heavens to be raised under the ocean by a group of sea nymphs who trained him to be an artisan. His fate would soon improve, his creative talents making him indispensable to gods and goddesses alike. How could they not notice the wonderful works he created? Welcomed home to Mount Olympus, he took his rightful place on Mount Olympus. nbsp;nbsp;: : : : : :nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;Which goddess are you?   Artemis? Athena? Demeter? Venus?
